Privacy statement for Bitmynt AS
Introduction
Bitmynt AS is required by law to store certain
information about you. This statement describes
who is responsible for your data and what we are
allowed to do with it.

If you have any questions about your
personal information and how we handle it,
or wish to have any information we have
stored about you corrected, you can contact
us at the addresses above.
Basis and Purpose of Data Collection
Bitmynt AS collects information about you
as required by law or regulations, or as you
voluntarily provide to us, for example when
applying for a job with us. We are very
concerned about privacy and do not collect
information for other purposes, such as
marketing. We will also not share any
information with others, unless required by
law or regulations.
Information we are required to collect from
customers and persons who trade on behalf of
customers include:
- Identification data that may include
name, address, national identification
number or D-number, date of birth, place
of birth, gender and citizenship,
cf. the Anti-Money Laundering Act §§ 12
and 13.
- Email addresses and telephone numbers
that we can use to contact you if we
have important information about
transactions or your customer
relationship, or need to update customer
information. We may also contact you to
prevent fraud.
- Information about occupation, family
status, and other relationships that are
relevant according to the anti-money
laundering act §§ 9, 14, 16, 17, 18 or
25.
- Information about the purpose of the
customer relationship, planned and
actual trading patterns, communication
between us and public information about
you that, after a risk assessment, we
consider necessary to assess the risk of
transactions involving money laundering
or terrorist financing, cf. the
anti-money laundering act § 12.
- Information about transactions to and
from us, such as bitcoin addresses and
all information that accompanies bank
transfers, cf the anti-money laundering
act and requirements for accounting and
auditing.
- Login information we need to recognise
you
- Any configuration settings you have
made to give you a customised user
experience or voluntary additional
services.
Security of personal information
We have done everything we can to ensure
that your data is safe with us. Personal
information will only be in plain text in
your browser and on our secure server.
It is stated in the privacy policy that
both your personal information and Bitmynt´s
bitcoin are stored on the secure server, and
they are equally secure. If Bitmynts bitcoin
were to disappear or there are other
indications that a third-party has gained
access to your personal information that we
have stored, we will contact you.
Access to personal information internally in Bitmynt AS
Employees only have access to personal
information they need to see in the position
they hold. Therefore, if you speak to an
employee, it is not certain that they can
see all the information we have about you.
Disclosure and use of personal information
We do not share personal information with
anyone unless required by law or regulation.
During normal use of our website, no
components will be loaded from third
parties, and no third parties will be able
to set cookies or other indications that you
have visited our pages.
You are entitled to obtain all information
about yourself, within the limitations set
by section § 32 of the anti-money laundering
act (prohibition against disclosing
information collected in the connection with
investigations and possible reporting of
suspicious transactions).
Situations where the law requires us to
share information with others may include
reporting to Økokrim about suspicious
transactions or an order to disclosure
information concerning a specific case from
the police. The Norwegian Tax Administration
also has broad powers to demand information
to be disclosed. The Financial Supervisory
Authority may conduct an inspection and
request to see all documentation to verify
that Bitmynt AS follows all procedures.
We will not disclose personal information
to third parties unless they have a clear
legal basis, or if you ask us to disclose
specific information to a specific third
party, for example, if you ask us to send
information to about transactions to the
Norwegian Tax Administration for automatic
filling of your tax return.
We will not use personal information or
contact information for marketing purposes,
or disclose information to others who engage
in marketing, unless you specifically
provide the information to receive news from
us, for example, if you request to be
notified via email when we launch a new
service.
Use of contact information
We may use contact information to inform
you about important changes to our services,
such as the discontinuation of a service you
use or changes to them terms of use or
privacy statement. We will also contact you
if we have a reason to believe that
unauthorised parties may have gained access
to your personal information, to update
customer information to comply with the
requirements of the anti-money laundering
act that they must be kept-up-to-date, or if
we need more information about a specific
transaction.
Cookies
Our website sets a cookie in the browser to
identify you as a logged-in user. This is
not shared with others and is not used to
track you. It is deleted when you log
out. Additionally, the browser stores some
information locally for the website to
function faster. We do not load any
components from third parties. We will not
use advertising networks that track
customers, we do not have tracking links in
emails sent to you, and we are cautious with
social networks that track you and sell
information about you.
Correction and deletion
The law requires that Bitmynt AS stores
identification documentation for five years
after our last transaction. If you identify
yourself to establish a customer
relationship but do not carry out any
transactions, we will delete the information
after five years. Alternatively, you may
request that we delete the information
earlier.
Changes to this privacy statement
We will contact you if we make changes to
this statement that allow us to use your
personal information in the new ways. You
may need to agree to new terms to continue
using our services. We do not inform you
about purely linguistic changes or
restrictions on our use of your personal
data.
